Davidson backstops Copper Cliff to win
2013-10-28

Jack Wisniewski scored two goals six seconds apart and goaltender Brody Davidson turned aside 30 of the 32 shots he faced as the Copper Cliff Eagels trimmed the Nickel Centre Rocks 3-2 in NEHL (Northeastern Houseleague) bantam action on Sunday night in Garson.

Ben Grace opened the scoring with a short-handed effort for the Eagles before Thomas Faggioni replied, connecting on the very same man advantage opportunity.

That set the stage for Wisniewski, who scored in rapid succession midway through the middle frame. Nickel Centre wasted little time closing the gap to just one, with Faggioni netting his second of the game to make it three goals in 28 seconds.

Thanks in large part to the work of Davidson, that would be it for scoring in this encounter as Copper Cliff held on through the final five minutes or so, with the Rocks holding nothing back.

NEHL action continues on Monday with games at the Gerry McCrory Countryside Sports Complex, as well as in Capreol, Coniston, Hanmer, Azilda and Val Caron.
