With both the high-school boys and girls volleyball seasons behind them, those who love the sport can now turn their attention to an even more fun environment, all while trading volleys on the court.
Fourteen teams took part in the recent Charger Cup Co-Ed Volleyball Tournament, with the Lockerby Vikings seniors and the juniors donning the colours of the Lasalle Lancers emerging as divisional champs.
Lockerby toppled the host and defending champion Confederation Chargers in the senior final while Lasalle downed the Horizon Aigles in the junior affair, with both gold medal games decided in straight sets.
The Lockerby senior squad featured Rayan Cabezas, Brinley Evans, Rebecca George, Kendra Crew, Bailey MacLennan, Cassandra Cloutier, Mac Young, Maks Beljo, Cam Young, Ryder Coe, Evan Hulisz and head coach Stephen Beausoleil.
Meanwhile, coaches Mike Rybiak and Leeza Connor guided the eight-person team of Truleigh Boivin, Sovia Borota-Thompson, Ben Bray-Homeniuk, Travis Dickie, Seamus Murphy, Blaire Rickard, Eliza Rybiak and Budhik Sharma to victory in the junior ranks.
