Northern Chill Volleyball Club girls were defending the home court a couple of weeks ago at Cambrian College while a local boys team travelled to Cobourg as the beach volleyball season continued the summer schedule.

Drawing a largely local contingent, the Chill walked away with three sets of gold medals and that same output in silver as teams competed in divisions ranging from U13 to U17.

Gold medal winners included Morgan Gauvreau and Julia Moulaison at 15U, Mara Kahl and Addison Gibbs at 17U, Emma DeMarchi and Addison Peplinski at 14U and Aviahna Cocchiola and Kylie Breau at 16U.

That last tandem also earned silver at 15U, beaten 15-21, 13-21 by Gauvreau & Moulaison, with Allison Davies / Ellie-Mae Claridge (13U) and Josslyne Ouellette / Ella Tourville (16U) also placing second.

Meanwhile, the boys pairing of Riley Payzant and Jérémi Rheaume finished second only to Whiting and Charles, dropping a 21-18, 21-12 decision at Cobourg Beach earlier this month.
