The Sudbury U13 Rockhounds will be taking their 14-0 tournament record into play at the OLA (Ontario Lacrosse Assocation) Provincial Championships less than two weeks from now.
For a third straight tournament, the Rockhounds failed to taste defeat at the recent 2025 Jack Bionda Shootout, ironically tested more severely in round robin games against the Orangeville Northmen (6-4), Hunstville Hawks (3-0) and Cambridge Highlanders (7-5).
By the time the playoff encounters arrived, the talented local crew were taking no prisoners.
The depth of Sudbury scoring was evident in a 6-1 semi-final win over the NOTL (Niagara-on-the-Lake) Thunderhawks as Jarrett Marshall, Cédric Poulin, Merrick Charbonneau, Clark Montgomery, Kaesen Adair and Carter Kuczma all found the range for the GSLA reps.
Even more dominance in the final as a rematch against Orangeville is over before it starts, the Rockhounds building up a 3-0 lead by the end of the first and cruising to a 7-0 gold medal victory.
A two-goal effort from Oliver Brunetti helped to pave the way as Noah Stott, Clark Montgomery, Kaesen Adair, Merrick Charbonneau and Karson Ferguson all chipped in with one goal apiece.
Ranked 21st in the province among all of the divisional categories, the U13 Rockhounds are expected to find themselves in the Provincial "B" pool, with the top 13 teams fighting it out in the "A" bracket.
