Paddling Film Festival World Tour returns to Sudbury
2025-03-31

The Paddling Film Festival World Tour is back.

The 2025 version of the event which features a cross-section from a selection of 26 paddling related films from around the globe comes to Sudbury on Thursday April 24th.

Sponsored by the Rotary Club of Sudbury Sunrisers, Ramakko's Source Adventure, Journal Printing and the Lougheed Foundation, the single evening event takes place at All Nations Church off Howey Drive, with doors opening at 6:00 p.m. and films to start at 7:00 p.m.

The fundraiser is being held in support of L'Arche Sudbury, Independent Living Sudbury and the All Abilities Paddle programs that are offered by the Sudbury Canoe Club. All proceeds will directly benefit these community programs.

The 2025 World Tour represents the 20th anniversary of the festival with a lineup that ranges from tackling the world's first huck off a glacier in Svalbard (east of Greenland and north of mainland Europe) to the roaring rapids on the Zambezi (Africa).

For a more gentle experience, consider the misty lochs of Scotland, a visit to a legendary canoe builder, a record setting paddle on the Mississippi River and the incredible vista that is Utah's Desolation Canyon.

These films don't just tell adventure stories - they will plant the seeds for future ones.

Tickets for the event are just $25 and can be purchase in person at Ramakko's or by contacting Kim Davis (Rotary Club of Sudbury Sunrisers) at daviskim524@gmail.com / (705) 690-8838.
