OWHA Provincials are still more than two weeks away and already the 2024-2025 season has been one to remember for the Sudbury U15 BB Lady Wolves.

The local team captured their fourth tournament banner of the winter, recently, reeling off six straight wins and walking away with gold at the Toronto Leaside March Matchup.

"I am incredibly proud to coach the U15 BB Sudbury Lady Wolves this season," noted head coach Rob Mininni. "The dedication, hard work and resilience these girls have shown is truly inspiring."

"Winning four tournaments in once season is an incredible accomplishment - and it's a testament to their commitment to improving and playing as a team. Watching them grow both on and off the ice has been amazing."

"I couldn't be prouder of what they've achieved together."

After surrendering a pair of goals in an opening game victory over the Toronto-Leaside Wildcats - #5732 (Alexie Miller (2); Ella Gatien), Sudbury netminder Abigail Ouimet was an absolute brick wall for the balance of the weekend.

Victories over the Scarborough Sharks (3-0 - Brooklyn Mininni; Alexie Miller (2)) and a second Toronto-Leaside entry (#3780 - 2-0 - Grace Demers; Melody Lavergne) gave the Lady Wolves a favourable placement entering the playoff round.

Quarter-final action provided for a familiar foe as Sudbury blanked the North Bay Jr Lakers 2-0 on goals from Alexie Miller and Ella Gatien, with the locals advancing to the championship affair thanks to a 1-0 whitewashing of the Etobicoke Dolphins (Hailee Paradis).

A rematch against the very first team that they faced proved equally as close as the Lady Wolves clipped the Wildcats (#5732) 1-0 when Mila Kidd finished off a pass from Lauren Bois while Abigail Ouimet recording her fifth straight shutout.

The remainder of the roster for the crew that also captured the Clarington Applefest (October), NB Junior Lakers Tournament (November) and the Orangeville Sweetheart Tournament (January) is, as follows: Eva Haraschuk, Evelyn Joly, Kayleigh Crew, Presley Brennan, Maya Croskery, Penelope Ouimet, Quinn Houle, Ava Cloutier goaltender Sofia Mallozzi (sidelined with an injury).

Ranked 9th in Ontario, the U15 BB Lady Wolves have drawn the Nepean Wildcats (ranked 14th), the Lindsay Lynx (#21) and the Scarborough Sharks (#48) in Pool D play at the OWHA Championships that begin on April 11th.
