Representatives of the Sudbury Artistic Swim Club have been busy the past month or so, beginning with the Leslie Taylor Ontario Cup last month.

Club veterans Heidi Fink and Eva Jessup were front and centre, with Fink capturing gold in the junior solo (119.7075), with Jessup in fourth place at 115.0600.

The tandem then teamed up to earn silver in the duet category while the 10U team competed for the first time ever, placing a very respectable 16th in a field of 21 teams.

Congratulations are extended to the young team of Ella Aho, Mackenna Laban, Olivia Beauvais, Violet Timony, Gabby Boudreau, Brielle Thornton, Aarefa Bootwala and Evelyn D’Onofrio-Jones.

Earlier this month, a pair of Regional entries from Sudbury battled it out at a meet that would gather artistic teams from the North and Northeast Districts.

The local 16-20 squad of Brianne Portelance, Ava Pagnutti, Emily Roy and Maya Benoit (1st in North) found themselves in the middle of the pack versus the NE (4th of seven), with the 13-15 Sudbury sextet of Hannah Edwards, Leah Fosten, Brielle Fudge, Sophie Patry, Bella Perron and Violet Shelswell (also 1st in North) one spot further back when matched against the Ottawa teams (5th of seven).

April sees a pair of meets dotting the calendar as the Junior Provincial swimmers travel to the Markham Pan Am Centre, site of the Joylyn Invitational on April 6th while the Regional girls tackle their final competition of the season on April 26th.
