With just five round robin pool draws remaining at the 2025 Scotties Tournament of Hearts in Thunder Bay, odds remain high that Sudbury will once again be well represented when playoff games begin Friday afternoon.

The defending champion Rachel Homan Team Canada rink that includes local vice Tracy Fleury as well as the front-end tandem of Emma Miskew and Sarah Wilkes remain undefeated at 6-0 following a 7-5 win Wednesday morning versus Corryn Brown (British Columbia).

Tack that on to victories over Jane DiCarlo (P.E.I. - 13-4), Krista McCarville (Northern Ontario - 10-7), Kayla Skrlik (Alberta - 9-7), Nancy Martin (Saskatchewan - 9-6) and Melissa Adams (New Brunswick - 7-4) and you have a very confident crew that is well positioned late in the week.

Team Homan is currently two games clear of the troika of Skrlik, Brown and Selena Sturmay, all at 4-2, with Fleury and company left with matchups against only Julia Weagle of Nunavut (0-6) and Sturmay.

Over in Pool B, Sudbury vice Kira Brunton, skip Danielle Inglis and the remainder of Team Ontario (Calissa Daly - second; Cassandra de Groot - lead) are sitting at 4-1, though trailing Kate Cameron of Manitoba 5-3 in the game currently in process.

The good news for the Inglis/Brunton foursome is that things are much more congested on their side of the draw as their 4-1 record to date ties them for the top spot in their grouping with Christina Black (Nova Scotia), with a logjam directly behind them.

Laurie St-Georges (Quebec - 4-2), Kerri Einarson (Manitoba - 3-2 - but trailing Black 5-1 at the midway point of the draw in progress), Kaitlyn Lawes (Manitoba - 3-3), Kate Cameron (3-2) and Kerry Galusha (Northwest Territories - 2-3) are still all in the running.

After a tough start, the Krista McCarville Northern Ontario foursome with Kendra Lilly at second is holding on by a thread, having reeled off three consecutive victories following an 0-4 start to the week.
