The fall of 2024 was an impressive one for Lo-Ellen Park Knights football programs, with both the juniors and seniors battling their way to city titles.

Unfortunately, the Korah Colts from Sault Ste Marie are even better.

The junior Colts outscored Lo-Ellen 51-12 Saturday afternoon in the Lock City, earning their fourth straight northern Ontario crown, with the senior Colts besting the Knights 41-18 in the NOSSA semi-final, punching their ticket to a final opposite the Algonquin Barons from North Bay.

Lukis Joy-Stoycheff and Gevin Grisdale scored two touchdowns apiece for the Korah junior squad, a top-end unit which built up a 51-0 lead before Lo-Ellen got on the board in the fourth quarter thanks to Connor Monaghan (70 yard run) and Noah Skrobot (75 yard pass from QB Adrian Aho.

Meanwhile, the senior Colts were equally as quick out of the gate, building up a 34-2 lead at the half before Lo-Ellen replied with a pair of touchdown passes from Noah Parsons, finding both Jack Centis (8 yards) and Quin Mazzuchin (22 yards) in the end zone.

In what is likely the final game for both Lo-Ellen stars, Mazzuchin (10 receptions - 115 yards) and QB/slotback Steven Sola (9/18 - 92 yards) tried their best to keep this contest close, with Parsons enjoying some success (8/10 - 141 yards) when he entered the game as well.

Both Mazzuchin and Sola were front and centre as well when it came to the SDSSAA individual awards as members of both the Lo-Ellen Park Knights and the Confederation Chargers (both of whom finished the regular season at 4-0-1) dominated the year-end ceremony.

Mazzuchin was named Most Outstanding Player, with Confederation RB/QB Braedan Beggs recognized as league MVP. Sola took home Offensive Player of the Year, Confederation linebacker Colton Savage did likewise on the defensive side and Zachary White earned Lineman of the Year bragging rights.
