The Sudbury U15 "BB" Lady Wolves returned from the Clarington Applefest Tournament with a healthy harvest - of gold medals, that is.

The local crew reeled off four straight wins in round robin play, bounced the Brantford Ice Cats 5-0 in the semi-finals and went to a shootout to get past the Nepean Wildcats 3-2 with the championship banner on the line earlier this month.

Kayleigh Crew netted a pair of goals as Sudbury broke the ice with a 4-2 in over the Keene Wolverines, with Ella Gatien and Maya Croskery adding the remaining snipes.

With goaltender Sofia Mallozzi currently injured, partner Abigail Ouimet stepped up to record three shutouts on the weekend, beginning with backstopping the Lady Wolves to a 4-0 win over the North Halton Twisters in game two.

The offensive power for the northern girls came courtesy of Alexie Miller, Hailee Losier-Paradis, Brooklyn Mininni and Kayleigh Crew as the group celebrated a very successful opening day.

The Saturday morning encounter was a tough one as the U15 "BB" reps eked out a 1-0 win over the Whitby Wolves, with Ouimet remaining flawless between the pipes while Eva Haraschuk accounted for the only marker in the contest.

The U15 "BB" Lady Wolves improved to 4-0 thanks to a 3-1 win over the Lindsay Lynx as Alexie Miller hit paydirt on two separate occasions, with Evelyn Joly also discovering her scoring touch in this match.

A 5-0 semi-final whitewashing of Brantford would allow the locals to conserve some energy for a final that would run just a few hours later as Mila Kidd (2), Maya Croskery, Brooklyn Mininni and Grace Demers provided the punch in support of puckstopper Abigail Ouimet.

Facing Nepean in the final, Ella Gatien would provide the heroics, scoring once in regulation time as well as bulging the twine for the game-winning goal in the shootout as the Wolves trimmed the Wildcats 3-2.

Alexie Miller drilled home her fourth goal of the tournament to wrap things up for the Sudbury side that also finds Penelope Ouimet, Lauren Bois, Quinn Houle, Presley Brennan, Ava Cloutier and Melody Lavergne.

Also making the trek to Clarington were the Sudbury U11 "BB" Lady Wolves who captured their division with a 2-1 win over the host Clarington Flames in the final while the Sudbury U15 "A" Lady Wolves began the Etobicoke Pink the Rink Tournament playing to a 2-2 tie with the Brampton Canadettes, but closed things off with a 1-0 gold medal game win against the same opponent.
