One tournament in and the Sudbury U13 BB Lady Wolves had yet to taste defeat.
The locals put together a six game winning streak last month to secure the championship banner at the Niagara Rapids Fall Classic, going to overtime in the final game before emerging victorious.
The Lady Wolves blanked the Cold Creek Comets 3-0 on goals from Janelle Labrosse, Jordan Corbiere and Madison Mercer as netminder Lexi Kissner recorded the first of her three shutouts on the weekend.
A 4-1 game two win over the Ancaster Avalanche welcomed three new goal scorers to the party as Janelle Labrosse opened the scoring but was followed this time around by Breeze Osawamick, Brooklyn O'Coin and Tessa Marshall, with Sudbury improving to 2-0 in the process.
The northern girls continued to look dominant through their next two encounters, blanking the North York Storm 4-0 (Osawamick, Chloe Labrosse, Mercer, Rocklyn Paquette) before riding a two goal performance from Osawamick to a 3-1 win over the Grand River Mustangs.
Things got noticeably closer in the playoff round as the U13 BB Lady Wolves edged the Etobicoke Dolphins 3-1 with Breeze Osawamick, Janelle Labrosse and Madison Mercer handling the offense.
An OT affair versus the host Niagara Rapids was settled when Osawamick buried her sixth goal of the weekend in period number four to send the Lady Wolves home happy.
Rounding out the roster of the 2024-2025 U13 BB Lady Wolves are Aria Darwish, Averly Larche, Hannah White, Jordyn O'Coin, Lucy Marsh, Gianna Lanteigne and Vivienne Michelutti.
The team staff features head coach Peter Michelutti Jr, assistant coaches Dan Paquette and Nicole Kissner, trainer Jeff Marsh, goalie coach Jordan Lanteigne and team manager Chris Marshall.
