Not only did the Sudbury U18 A Lady Wolves take home the banner at the Oshawa Lady Generals Fall Classic Tournament last month, but they did so by displaying an incredible knack for winning very close games.

It went well beyond a 1-0 shootout victory over the Toronto Leaside Wildcats in a gold medal affair highlighted by a Leila Barsanti shutout and a tournament-winning PK snipe from Mya Flores.

In fact, this was the third 1-0 win that Barsanti backstopped over the weekend, topping both the Scarborough Sharks and North York Storm in preliminary round action (Gracie Dale scored the GWG in both outings), while puck-stopping partner Leah Murphy was equally as unyielding in a 1-0 semi-final overtime win over the second Leaside entry, with Flores again providing the heroics.

Murphy had blanked Leaside 3-0 in game two, with the Lady Wolves following that up with a 1-1 draw with the Stoney Creek Sabres as Mya Massmiliano scored for the second straight game.

Rounding out the Sudbury roster are Berkley Pitura, Sarah Withers, Ava Bois, JoJo Ajueze, Lileigh Dormer, Maia Hammell, Michaela Cole, Isabelle Lanteigne, Isabella Perry, Addison Gibbs and Kendra Cole.
