The Laurentian Voyageurs basketball camp programs for kids ages eight to 14 are set commence in early July with four different weekly sessions running, the first from July 8th to the 12th.

Led by Laurentian varsity coaches and student-athletes from both the Voyageurs men's and women's basketball teams, the camps offer a mix of fundamentals and various skills in a competitive setting, making for a solid week of development and fun for all participants.

Geared to align with the Sport for Life Long-Term Development model, the offerings that takes place on campus this summer are structured to create age and stage appropriate learnings for all campers.

"The campers are divided into groups that match the challenge / skills balance," noted L.U. women's head coach Jason Hurley. "Former campers include several U Sports and NCAA players."

Working in team settings, participants will have the chance to work on improvements in the areas of ball handling, passing, shooting and defense, among others.

The youths will also be exposed to some non-basketball related, be it outdoor activities (hiking and rock climbing) or some alternate form of physical activity.
