With every single member of the Laurentian Voyageurs women's cross-country team establishing a new personal best time for the course at the 2023 McMaster Bayfront Open, the L.U. ladies continue to claw their way up the OUA rankings.

Just as she has in pretty much every single race of the season, third year nursing student and Lo-Ellen Park Secondary School graduate Kristen Mrozewski once again paced the locals, placing 38th in a very deep field with an 8km time of 30:59.

Hot on her heels was teammate Angela Mozzon (41st - 31:07), with Meredith Kusnierczyk (80th - 32:49), Sarah Booth (88th - 33:12) and Sudbury Secondary product and Voyageur freshman Charlotte Grenier (92nd - 34:10), with Abbey Maillet (105th - 35:10), Claire Scholl (106th - 35:11) and Abby Lanteigne (109th - 35:32) also representing the blue and gold.

Their combined efforts were enough to slide Laurentian into seventh place in the women's standings with 236 points (low score wins), just ahead of the Wilfrid Laurier Golden Hawks (248) and the Brock Badgers (249), but still with plenty of ground to make up on the fifth place Waterloo Warriors (145) or the University of Toronto Blues in sixth at 146.

On the men's side, it was a given the team results would take a hit as 2022 rookie sensation Seamus Doherty was sidelined with an injury, though the continued progress of Voyageur veteran Keon Wallingford (32nd - 25:36) remains encouraging.

"Keon is continuing his climb back from an injury that kept him out for over a year so I anticipate he will continue to move up the ranks in a few weeks," noted head coach Darren Jermyn.

With the OUA Championships set to be hosted by the University of Waterloo next Saturday (October 28th), the men who scored for L.U. on Friday included Cameron Date (85th - 27:32), Brandon Radey (graduate of Lasalle Secondary - 90th - 27:48), Patrick Leroux (102nd - 28:23) and Owen Roney (Lockerby Composite - 108th - 28:37).

Rounding out the Sudbury race crew for the Hamilton meet were Aurel Fox (109th - 28:48), Keegan Lockley (115th - 29:28) and Travis Annett (120th - 29:57).
