After dropping their first two games of the Toronto Soccer League (TOSL) season, the GSSC (Greater Sudbury Soccer Club) Impact U15 Boys have very quickly climbed back near the top of the standings.

A pair of road wins two weekends ago leaves the Sudbury crew sitting at 3-2-0, good for nine points and trailing only the North Toronto Nitros (13 pts) and the Olympic Flame (12 pts) in Boys Under 15 Tier I rankings (nine teams in all).

A pair of goals by Masimo Toffoli and solo strikes by Lukas Morin, Donald Munyua and Josh Rioux lifted the Impact to a 5-1 win over North York Academy, with David Akero earning the praise of head coach Dino Moretta for his efforts as an attacking fullback.

Facing the Toronto Azzuri the next day, the northern lads snapped a 1-1 tie in the second half courtesy of the second goal of the weekend from Munyua, extending their current winning streak to three games with a 2-1 victory.

Maksim Beljo got the Impact on the board in the opening half with the relentless efforts of Mishal Olanrewaju and Caleb Pearson helping protect the lead once the advantage was secured.

With a pair of scheduled games cancelled last weekend, the U15 squad will have a few weeks to prepare for the start of a five game homestand (covering the entire month of July), beginning with a battle against the Toronto CB Black Wolves (2-2-1) on (Sunday) July 9th at noon at the James Jerome Sports Complex.
