A second round playoff exit at the hands of the Soo Thunderbirds undoubtedly left a sour taste in the mouths of the Greater Sudbury Cubs - but it certainly did not negate what was an all-around memorable year.

Some of the players who were key reasons in making the year more memorable were honoured last week as the Cubs doled out the year-end hardware, with veteran Pierson Sobush earning the biggest accolades, named as team MVP in addition to finishing as the top scorer for the Sudbury franchise in 2022-2023.

The recipients include both returnees (Nicholas Toffoli, Cole Quevillon) and newcomers (Marshall McCharles, Kyloe Ellis) alike, showcasing many of the young men who helped lead the Cubs to a West Division title in a record setting 94-point campaign.
