From 1984 to 1989, the Macdonald-Cartier Panthères captured the SDSSAA Boys Aggregate banner six straight times.

After the Chelmsford Flyers snapped that streak in 1990, ESMC bounced back in 1991 and 1992, emerging victorious two more times.

Now, thanks to the efforts of head coach Celeste Contant-Rodrigues and wrestlers such as Ryland House, Hayden McIntyre, Cedric Toupin, Alain Levesque, Diego Valdes and Dia Tapsirou, the pride of Panthères wrestling has returned.

For the record, the first ever SDSSAA Girls Aggregate banner was awarded in 1998 to the St Charles College Cardinals, who then defended their chgampionship one year later.

Macdonald-Cartier captured the NOSSA boys aggregate last week in Sault Ste Marie while the hometown St Mary's Knights took top spot in both the Grils Aggregate and Overall Aggregate divisions.

A total of 21 SDSSAA athletes qualified for the 2023 OFSAA Wrestling Championships being staged on March 7th and 8th in Ottawa by virtue of finishing either first or second against some of the top competitors from northern Onatrio.
