There was no lack of multi-sport talent rising to the forefront as the CSPGNO (Conseil Scolaire Publique du Grand-Nord de l'Ontario) recently hosted their cross-country championships at Kivi Park, with three of the four local school boards in attendance.

While most of the races were fairly closely contested, the Senior Boys affair was downright dramatic as Edison Joly (St-Augustin - 14:00), Landen Lake (St Charles College - 14:01) and Kyle Buckland (St-Augustin - 14:03) all crossed the line within a three second interval.

Hockey stars were showing the way in the Senior Girls (Adrielle Charette - St-Denis - 15:47), Junior Girls (Ella Sabourin - Jean-Paul II - 9:34) and Tyke Girls (Eloize Charette - St-Denis - 9:37) as the juniors and tykes covered a two kilometre distance, with the seniors extending out over a three kilometre loop.

Max Barros was tops among a quartet of Holy Trinity runners who finished in the top 11 of the junior boys race, his time of 8:32 good enough to eclipse second place finisher Coen Chretien (Jean-Paul II) by seven seconds.

Finally, in the Tyke Boys bracket, Tejada Gieselman would break through on behalf of Ecole Hélène-Gravel, posting the largest margin of victory with a 58 second victory over Jérémie Neale of St Dominique.
