With local siblings Alex and Ben Fowke leading the charge, the Laurentian Voyageurs men's golf team ran away from the field at the 2022 McMaster Invitational earlier this week, eclipsing the second place by no less than ten strokes.
Back in town after spending a season with the Seattle University Redhawks (NCAA), Alex Fowke fired a one under par round of 71, just two shots back of tournament champion Justin Allen from Guelph and deadlocked with Patrick Maloney from McMaster in second place.
Fresh off graduating from St Charles College in June, younger brother Ben Fowke secured sole possession of fourth place at one over par 73.
Also within earshot was Laurentian veteran Jacob Lacko, the Lo-Ellen Park product who captured the Brock Invitational last Septemebr and finished tied for 10th at Mac with a round of 76.
Rounding out the scoring Voyageurs' quartet was Ethan Mulligan (77), with Vince Palladino Jr a couple of shots back at 80.
The Laurentian side will now enjoy a few weeks back home, scheduled to participate in the UW / WLU Invitational being hosted at Rebel Creek Golf Club in Petersburg on October 1st and 2nd.
