Just three days in and we're already 16 games deep into the SDSSAA flag football schedule.

Yep, it's going to be a busy fall for the girls.

The Horizon Aigles are showing few signs of being in over their head in the Senior Girls "A" grouping, following up a 22-0 season opening win over the Lo-Ellen Park Knights with a 21-14 decision over the St Charles College Cardinals.

Brooke Dugas accounted for all three majors in the win over SCC, with Emily Winsor chipping in with a pair of converts and a single on a field goal attempt that drifted ever so slightly left of the uprights.

Abigail Dumontelle and Madison Hollohan reached the end zone for the Cardinals, with Farrah Farstad making good on both point after attempts. This marked the second straight St Charles setback by a score or less, edged 28-27 the previous day by the Lasalle Lancers.

Emilie Lefebvre and Jasmine Savignac scored two majors apiece for Lasalle, with Madyson Biladeau adding four converts while Hollohan, with a pair, was joined in the TD department by Cardinal teammates Katelynn Jacques and Ayla Lagace in the close loss.

The Confederation Chargers edged the Bishop Carter Gators 10-7 as a field from Kylee Hitchen proved to be the difference after Addison Johnstone (Chargers) and Aimie Remillard (Gators) traded touchdowns earlier in the contest.

Lasalle also joined Horizon atop the "A" standings with a 13-2 win over the Lockerby Vikings late Wednesday night.

Senior Girls Division "B" play is still wide open as the Collège Notre-Dame Alouettes kicked off the entire slate of 2022 fall games with a 15-6 win over the Marymount Regals.

Bailey Raymond reached the house on two separate occasions, while Sophie Huneault added a two-point conversion and Hannah Hodak chipped in with a rouge. Only Tara Guse managed to make her way on to the scoresheet for the one-time flag football powerhouse from Marymount Academy.

The Champlain Requins also hit the win column on day one, blanking the Lively Hawks 27-0 while the Macdonald-Cartier Panthères and St Benedict Bears played to a scoreless draw as the respective defenses stole the show.

The encounter featured no less than four interceptions as picks by St Benedict defenders Trista Thompson and Bella Carter were offset by the ESMC duo of Félicité Gosselin and Emmaline Hansen.

The Panthères offense got rolling the next day as Mia Roberge recorded three TDs, lifting Macdonald-Cartier past the Sudbury Secondary North Star 18-0.

While the North Stars could not slow down St Benedict a whole lot more the next day, beaten 28-6, they did manage to score their first touchdown of the year courtesy of Grace Beange. Emily Levesque was a one-person wrecking crew for the Bears, accounting for two TDs and four PATs while Alyssa Eid also hit paydirt twice.

Finally, with the busiest division of all, the Lockerby Vikings got the ball rolling on Monday, posting a 20-0 whitewashing of the St Benedict Bears in Junior Girls action as Grace Kalu scored three touchdowns for the victors.

Tuesday junior play would see four different players reach the end zone for the Lo-Ellen Park Knights: Jennifer Baldelli, Isabel Rheault, Melina Doiron and Claire Kellestine in a 28-0 win over St Benedict while Kaylee Vaillancourt records a touchdown, a field goal and a convert in a 17-6 Lasalle triumph over St Charles.

Bishop Carter receives majors from Cameron O'Daiskey, Haley Moore Seguin and Jillian Landry in a 21-13 win over the Horizon juniors while Madisyn Leblanc accounted for the only scoring in a 6-0 Confederation victory over Marymount.
