After capturing a tournament earlier this fall, the Laurentian Voyageurs men's golf team could not quite bring it all together simultaneously at the recent OUA Championships hosted at Hylands Golf Club in Ottawa late last week.
The Voyageurs, as a team, finished ninth in a field of 15 entries, but were well within a shot at the top half of the leaderboard. With a two-day total of 624 (313/311), the L.U. lads found themselves two strokes back of the Western Mustangs (622) and three back of the Ottawa Gee Gees (621).
By the same token, Laurentian did manage to edge out both the Carleton Ravens (625) as well as the Brock Badgers at 627.
On an individual basis, the locals were led by veteran Jacob Lacko who followed up an opening day 77 with a very nice 74 on day two, his aggregate of 151 enough to bunch him into a five-man deadlock for eighth place, exactly ten strokes back of Nicolas Dessureault from McMaster.
A little further back were Alex Fowke (76-79 - 155 - T24th), Ben Fowke (78-79 - 157 - T33rd), Vincent Palladino (82-79 - 161 - T49th) and Ethan Mulligan (92-91 - 183 - 74th).
