With just eleven athletes on hand, the Air Blastoff Lions would climb all the way to tenth in a grouping of 52 clubs that were recently entered to compete at the 2024 David McKendrick MTA Indoor Championships at the Toronto Track and Field Centre.

Leading the charge for the locals were Annabelle Richardson and Brielle Doiron with two silver medal performances apiece.

Richardson clocked in with new personal best times of 8.25 and 8.19 seconds in the 60m dash and a PB of 27.84 to take silver in the 200m, with fields of 50+ athletes on hand for both of those events.

Competing in the smaller "Peewee" grouping, Doiron (born in 2018) crossed the 60m dash line in 12.12 seconds and covered 2.03 metres in the long jump, finishing second to Xia Ligutan and Zoe Kenga respectively in both events.

Nadia MacDonald (Intermediate long jump - 4.82 - PB) and Jacob Paille (Intermediate 400m - 52.63 - PB) added a silver medal apiece to the Air Blastoff haul while Melina Doiron (8.10/8.04 in 60m dash - PB) chipped in with a bronze.

With an rare 800m race walk offered at the meet, locals Dante Ricketts (1st place - 5:43) and Jude Waterman (3rd place - 5:40) took advantage of limited entries to add even more points for the crew assembled by coach Robert Esmie.

Myra Balfe and Leah Serre joined Melina Doiron and Nadia MacDonald to earn bronze in the parlauf relay (400m/200m/200m/800m) while Doiron, MacDonald, Richardson and Serre teamed up to post an impressive 4 X 200m relay time of 1:50.73, good enough for third place.
