Crunch time for Sudbury Jam U15 girls
2017-04-04
by Randy Pascal

It's crunch time for the Sudbury Jam U15 Girls, as the U16 OBL X-League single elimination is set for this coming Saturday and Sunday.

Finishing second in the ten team loop with a final record of 7-2, the Sudbury squad will battle the winner of the Blessed Sacrament (2-7) versus Kinsgton Impact (3-6) matchup, as the locals take to the floor of George Brown College (Casa Loma Campus) Saturday at 4:30 p.m.

The Jam outscored the Impact 50-37 in league play back on January 29th, after knocking off Blessed Sacrament 45-35 the previous day. Posting six straight wins out of the gate, the locals went 1-2 on the last weekend of February, splitting on Saturday against Stoney Creek NYB (31-36) and MUMBA (45-21), and then falling to top seeded Welland Basketball, 43-23.

A victory in their first outing this Saturday would advance coach Bruce Bourget and company into a semi-final battle with the winner of the Stoney Creek vs MUMBA head to head encounter.

The 2016-2017 roster for the Sudbury Jam U15 girls team includes Sami Dunlop Bassett, Claudia Pellerin, Delaney Bourget, Mireille Dimaio, Emily Lafond, Abby Frick, Heidi Lamothe, Grace Smrke, Dylann Mazzuchin and Shannon Clarke.
