New PBs for Eberlein, Charlebois and Killeen
by Randy Pascal
The final two qualifiers of the season produced a healthy assortment of podium finishes and other highlights for the Sudbury Laurels – GymZone
Gymnastics women’s artistic team, as the local girls travelled to meets in Alliston and Muskoka.
Establishing a new personal best score of the vault (9.625), Charlotte Eberlein (Level 6 – age 13) captured silver on the event, adding a bronze
on the beam en route to her best all-around score of the season (36.075), earning her a fifth place finish.
Brielle Charlebois (Level 6 – age 16+) continues to explore uncharted waters, scoring “nines” on all of her events for the first time ever and
walking away with bronze in the all-around competition, hitting a new PB score of 36.975.
Matching her teammate in her all-around placement, Rachel Uguccioni (Level 8 – age 14) leveraged a bronze on vault and silver on the bars to her
third place finish in the aggregate.
Marisol Toupin (Level 8 – age 14) unveiled her new “Piked Tsukahara” in the vault, picking up silver on the apparatus, adding to a
collection of medals that also included the beam (silver), floor (silver), bars (bronze) and all-around (silver).
Brooklyn Lavallee (Level 8 – age 16+) has cemented her reputation on the beam, putting together strong routines in back to back competitions and
emerging with both a gold (Muskoka) and silver (Alliston) medal.
Yet another all-around PB in the offing, this time courtesy of Alana Killeen (Level 6 – age 12), who translated a new high end score of 36.6 into
a 6th place ribbon. Finally, one more individual gold medal of note, as Savannah Starling-Brisebois (Level 7 – age 15) rocked her floor routine in
Alliston, topping her field.
