NCA swimmers building towards Div II Team Championships
2016-12-13
by Randy Pascal

The second of the NEOR (Northeastern Ontario Region) Developmental meets is done, with representatives of the Nickel City Aquatics targeting the upcoming Division II Ontario Team Showdown in Brantford (Dec 16th – 18th).

Thankfully, NCA coaches Thierry Middleton and Alain Delorme have plenty of positives to build upon.

Swimmers drawing praise from their mentors included 9 year-old Shane Clapham, who showcased outstanding technique in his 50m breaststroke, lowering his personal best time down to 1:02.74.

Teammate Jack Brush (13) sits right on the doorsteps of qualifying for a championship meet in the 200m breaststroke, shaving more than 16 seconds off his time and clocking in at 3:25.00.

Georgia Lepage (10) was singled out for her outstanding work on the walls with her turns, taking a huge chunk off her PB in the 200m individual medley.

Members of the NCA crew earning top three placements included Tristen Aikia-Lauzon (13), Joshua Clapham (17), Matt Clapham (12), Keegan Lepage (11), Norah Morrissey (10), Aislinn Munro (14), Niko Ovaska (12), Ben Schell (10) and Alexander Valentim (12).
