A provincial silver medal for golfer Nick Quesnel

Competing at the OUA Golf Championships at the Ambassador Golf Club in Windsor, Laurentian sophomore Nick Quesnel managed a program best ever second place finish (tied with David French of Waterloo), just two strokes back of provincial champion Austin Ryan of Wilfrid Laurier.

A round of two under par 68 left Quesnel just one shot off the lead at the end of day one, carding a 72 on day two and bettering his nearest teammate (Dale Valade) by a full ten strokes.

Rounding out the L.U. men's results were Nico Presot (154), Liam Hamlin (158) and Marshall Graper (161). For the second straight year, the Voyageurs golf crew could also lay claim to a female entry at the OUA championships, as Melanie Kappel (217) followed directly in the footsteps of Laura Gilmore.

From a team standpoint, Laurentian placed tenth in a field 16 teams, with the Waterloo Warriors (573), Western Mustangs (579) and Queen's Gaels (584) topping the podium.
