Tamara Bouchard claims provincial taekwondon championship

A long-time competitor in the provincial taekwondo circuit, Mike Larose is more than happy to temporarily shelve his aspirations, as an athlete, looking to groom some up and coming talent within Falconbridge Taekwondo.

Just twelve years of age, Tamara Bouchard recently dominated her middle weight division, claiming gold at the All-Ontario championships in Toronto. Bouchard got the better of Snenha Ramachandran of the Markham Taekwondo Academy in her opening bout, outscoring her opponent 9-2.

The fight for gold proved even more lopsided, as officials stopped the battle between Bouchard and Aryana Najafi (Sport Taekwondo Academy - Toronto) after the second round, with the local girl soundly ahead 20-1.

Larose and company would actually return home with a pair of medals, as Noah Martin claimed bronze, grouped in a very tough division. The Falconbridge crew are back in action on Saturday, October 1st, taking part in Jung Ko's Canadian Classic, being hosted at the Markham Pan Am Centre.
