Wolfpak sweeps Senior Expert class in Midland

The one-two punch of Dominic Girard and Eddie Skala have extended the podium streak for the Walden Mountain Bike Club (WMBC) Wolfpak Racing Team once again.

The local pair were side by side this past weekend in Midland, sweeping the top two placings in the Senior Expert 19-29 division.

Hot off a silver medal performance at the "National Mountain Bike Championships" in Barrie last month, Girard posted a victory by over three minutes over his teammate, crossing the finish line in 1:37:49 (vs 1:41:04 for Skala).

Also cracking the top ten in the same category were Scott Phillips (5th place - 1:45:31) and Nicholas Tavchandjian (9th place - 1:52:41), as WMBC sent a crew of six riders to the competition.

Part of the Master Expert 30-39 grouping, Alex Anstice slid into fifth place, recording a time of 1:43:16, while a clocking of 2:09:55 would find Alex Schmidt as the 17th finisher in the challenging Senior Elite Male classification.

The Wolfpak will wind up the Plastiglas Ontario Cup XC Series schedule at Horseshoe Valley on September 21st, taking part in the Provincial MTB Championships.
